Whitecross is an American Christian metal band formed in 1985 in Illinois by vocalist Scott Wenzel and guitarist Rex Carroll. They're known for their heavy metal sound with technical guitar work, often drawing comparisons to bands like Ratt. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1987. Whitecross became a prominent band in the Christian metal scene, earning multiple Dove Awards for "Metal Album of the Year" for albums like "Triumphant Return" and "In the Kingdom." After some lineup changes and a period of inactivity, the original lineup, including Carroll and Wenzel, reformed in 2000. They released "Fear No Evil" in 2024, their first album of new material in over two decades, continuing their mission to share a Christian message through their powerful music.
